One negative of the Dunlops is poor on-center tracking. Not a problem on the
race track but a pain on the freeway. I bought a set for my '90 Miata recently
and returned them for a set of AVS-Is as the Dunlops were all over the place
above 55mph (yes I aligned the car).
The best autox/street tire IMHO is the Michelin Pilot SX-GT. This is the OEM
tire for the
'99-2000 Miata Sport and it's great. I have even done well on the autocross
course with them against race tired competition. They are also great in the
rain which is a big bonus up here
in Seattle.
