Not implying that you said anything counter to this but just to make the
point, I've noticed that most sport compact car-type performance magazines
are filled with *feature* cars WITH 1/4 mile times right there. There have
been hundreds of big, bad, blown "muscle" cars in Hot Rod over the years
that clearly are brought out of their hermetically-sealed chambers for a
photo shoot without a timeslip in sight. Big ol' Mickey Thompsons in a
tubbed Chevelle that never see the strip are just as valid as 19" wheels and
35-series tires that never see the autocross course! ;^)
Just pointing out that it works both ways on either side.
