Well, I was there for part of that.  San Antonio, Comfort, Austin, Waco,
Rowlett, Sherman.  In August.  It happened to be dry and 107 in Waco the day
I was there, and that was not too bad.  Two things helped this Minnesota
kid:  Huge quantities of water, and the warm hospitality of the Texas
people.

This winter, Minnesota looks like it is back to normal.  We are certainly
on-track for a white Christmas.  The temperature is in the single-digits F.
The last three winters have bee spookily warm, and I'm glad to see real
winter return.

All-in all, I'd rather have beautiful indian-summer weather, but given the
choice between hot and cold, I'll take the cold.
