I don't see why you can't add a rev limiter into a stock car. Just about
every car sold today with a computer controlled ignition or computer
controlled fuel injection system comes with a rev limiter! I guess nobody
thought of that! :)
As far as a shift light being a gauge or even legal in stock? How many
times are you really shifting on an auto-x course where it will even matter?
You are trying to say that you can't hear what your engine is doing? The
shift light is a gauge if that is what you are looking for. They are a just
like the oil warning light in the dash. The battery light in the dash.
This one just happens to light up at a particular engine rpm. The oil light
lights up at a particular oil pressure or temperature depending on the car.
Same thing in my mind.
It is not a performance enhancement. If you were in my class I would not
protest you, it would be a stupid protest!
