I am a strong advocate of giving back _all_ the dues money to the
volunteers. They should receive a chit at each race that can be used to
pay the next year's dues.
Also, many SCCA club racers are under the impression they have been
subsidizing Solo II because of the way the national office does the
accounting based on which box(es) you check on your membership renewal.
According to the national 'books' this is the first year in a number of
years where Solo was in the black. So watch out when you start throwing
asparagus at subsidizing things. Besides, many SCCA regions make _all_
their non-dues revenue from Solo II entry fees because they do not
sanction races.
