Good question. The first electric car showed up about 2 years ago, a
914 loaded with batteries. It was an experimental car and they just
wanted to test it out. Very ill-handling, and chalked off. (It ran in A
Mod; there's nobody there anyway). The same has happened since with
other pure electric cars.
The hybrid car, a Honda Insight, is available and should be classed,
maybe in E Stock?
As for creating a class for cars that rarely show up, we tried that
years ago upon the request of some Bricklin owners (or something like
that). We made the class they asked for and then they never showed up.
No harm done except for a lot of discussion. Anyway we do have our "OSP"
which allows almost anything on DOT tires. These kinds of cars can run there.
The Insight doesn't look like an autocross car; it's narrow like the
Focus, but the guy does a pretty nice job of driving it.
