In case you couldn't sleep tonight without knowing, :-)
New York edged out event host New Jersey to win the
2000 Tri-States Championship today. Connecticut, holder
of the trophy since at least 1996, was a distant third.
The Tri-States was started in 1964, as a team competition
between the 4 independent sports car councils in the
NY metro area. Hosting of the championship was rotated
between the councils. These councils were the rule-makers
for their respective autocross regions until the SCCA
got into the Solo-II biz and published "standard"
rules. The respective councils are all but dead now,
but the event goes on as a state-versus-state team
autocross.
Anyway, kudos to NNJR-SCCA for running an awesome event,
even if they did forget the dash plaques..... :-)
