Absolutely, yes.
"But you already HAVE a Ladies class."
"Don't you feel like you're insulting women by running here?"
"Have you okayed this with the other ladies competitors?"
"If you run Open, then you're taking the competition out of the Ladies
class."
One fellow, just over a year ago, told me, yes, to my face, that there are
several talented women drivers who are choosing to run in the ladies class
to encourage other women to drive, and that I should contribute to this
"cause" by running in the Ladies class, too, that I wasn't doing my part.
Another fellow worried that by running open, I was indirectly encouraging
other women to do the same, and that would make the women who run in Ladies
feel pressure to run Open when they really don't want to.
Do you think I'm making this up?
