First of all, anyone notice that #13 in STS is Brian Priebe in a
Subaru? Lets just hope the start is really nice and tight like usual on both
courses so those Subaru's wont be able to use thier advantage. Lets also
hope it doesn't rain either day or all of us front drivers are dead meat to
the Subarus.
STS is one class that SportsCar better have a SportsCar was wrong
t-shirt printed for. While I think the Subaru's have a definite advantage in
ProSolo because of thier ability to launch hard, the typical Nationals style
start kills that advantage. The SportsCar article didn't seem to take this
into account, nor did they seem to take into account the CENDIV players like
John Fessler, Paul Wines, (or if the course is right then Ron Conrad). I
have seen Paul Wines and John Fessler run recently at several events and
they just seem to get faster and faster (while I seem to get slower and
slower). And lets not count out Doug Gill, who from what I hear has been
really fast this year also.
STS is a pretty "up in the air" class as far as who wins, but one
thing I can say, if my year continues its trend:
I (John Moore) will be 1 place out of the trophies!
6th ( off 5th by 2.9 seconds) at the Meridian Tour in CS, 5
trophies.
4th (off 3rd by .073, and only 1.22 off first) at the Peru
Tour in STS, 3 trophies.
I seem to be the Fastest of the Slow Guys all the time. Maybe I should put
that on a t-shirt.
