the only thing i can add as a testimonial is that I run Redline 40wt Racing
oil - starting my runs with about 190deg oil temp. it is the only oil that
will keep my engine from collapsing hydraulic lifters after hitting a fuel
cut-off (damn those things) at 7072 rpm.
i tried different Mobil 1 viscosities (even 15-50) with no luck - RL racing
formulas do stir up a bunch of controversy (you gotta see the flame fests on
this subject on other boards) as there are a few issues with detergent, zinc
& phosphorus levels / not being ideal for a daily driver
I'll deal with long term when/if the time comes - for now running this stuff
beats loosing lifters or cam lobes - and i have a few :)
just another .02
