I'm once again bowing to the collective wisdom of Team.Net.
Does shaving Kumhos give you a huge advantage over a set with almost
full tread?
I'm going to order up a new set of Kumhos for Nationals and was
wondering about getting them shaved. I know from experience that my
Kumhos have always worked much better after a few events and wasn't sure
if it was becuase they got worn down to where the outer treadblocks had
lost their 1/32nd or whatever tread, or if they had just been heat
cycled enough.
I'm also a little worried about the possibilty of rain Thurs/Fri. Last
year I had almost full tread (just enough events to make them nice and
sticky) and did pretty well on Tuesday when it rained. So if I shave the
tries I will probably be screwed since I can't afford multiple sets of
tires and shaved tires don't have enough treadblocks to run well in
rain, do they?
So should I just go ahead and get full tread and heat cycle them/run
them at a couple of events or should I shave them?
Thanks,
Mike
