Uhhh... as much as I'd like to see SM participation increase, I don't think
this is a realistic option for everybody, especially if all a given car is
lacking to be able to keep up with the given class standard is something
simple like a front bar or shocks.

Not yet. It is not allowed in SM today, but it would be allowed in the
proposed new "SM for cars not allowed in SM" class.
