A few years ago we started marking apexes with yellow pointers and the
response was extremely positive. The trick is minimizing using the pointers
to only places where the car will be close to. For example, there shouldn't
be pointers on both sides of a gate, just the inside edge. I've seen
pointers used to say "No, you should be *WAY* over there", when I think they
should say "Look at me and always look for the next one". When it's done
this way, the use of nice bright yellow cones (Purchased from Glen the
ConeMan, of course) really make the course easier to navigate, especially
for mod cars.
