Ok, I think we need to draw a line between weight and balance....
Ponycars and Corvettes weigh about the same, have about the same power, and
have the same size tires. Now, why don't they run in the same class? It
should've been obvious to everyone by now....
2 things. Good weight balance, and a REAL rear suspension. That's it.
Well, M3s have both. AND, as has been so quickly pointed out, they're
lighter to negate the power disadvantage. So, even counting total weight and
power, the 2 things above are enough to git'em out.
DSMs won't apply because they have the same weight balance problem we do.
IRS Mustangs are the in the same predicament. Having both is just too much
to give away.
