Looking at the last 3 national championships, a SS Corvette has done no
better than 98.4% of the SS winner's time. So the PAX for a SS Corvette
should be somewhere between .815 and .817. vs .822 for ESP, so you wouldn't
have to do as well to beat him.
But you'd have to be a pretty good driver to beat Dave, PAX or not. In '97 I
heard he not only won the ProSolo and Solo II Championships, but he won
every single race (local, NT, ProSolo) and ProSolo challenge round he
entered.

I guess I'm not sure what objective measurements people use to decide that
the ESP PAX has been soft.
