For Sale: AR-24 Wheels
Five (5) complete sets of American Racing AR-24 cast aluminum wheels:
14" x 6", 5x100mm bolt pattern with a 35mm Offset. These polished and
painted
cast aluminum wheels are the very same wheels found on most championship
caliber Neons. The AR-24 wheel has been on every Neon that has won a
D Stock National Championship and most of the E Stock Neon winners too.
(OK,
OK, everybody but Laura Molliker) These wheels will also fit other cars
including
many Toyotas
What makes these older AR-24 wheels unique as that they are lighter than
stock Neon wheels and the wider track caused by the 35mm offset (The stock
Neon
offset is 40mm) are just within the variance allowed by the stock category
rules.
Only the older version of the AR-24 model 4860 have a 35mm offset and are
LEGAL for
Stock Category Neons. Due to an American Racing production change, newer,
similar looking versions of the AR-24 model 4860 wheels have a 33mm offset
and
are ILLEGAL for Stock Category Neons. You could be DSQed.
How can you tell if you, or your fellow Neon competitor have the illegal
33mm or legal 35mm AR-24 wheels, Check the inside of the wheel. Cast into
the wheel spokes on the inside of the wheel are the wheel's diameter, width,
model number, casting date and offset. Offset will be cast as either 33mm
(Bad if you are in a Neon) or 35mm (Good if you are in a Neon) (Hey, I
don't write these rules, I just tend to want to make sure everyone abides by
them)
Check you wheels and get legal on the cheap. Set of 4 Wheels - $175 or OBO
