I'd like to claim that red 240Z that was in the Grassroots Motorsports $1500
Challenge.  Looks like a great BSP starter car for $1500.

Some people sure have different ideas of "starter".  $10k sure isn't mine
:-)  If I had 10k extra, I'd probably start with a $1000-1500 240Z and bet I
could build (or have built) a pretty competive car.  Of course the fact that
I've driven and competed in Z's for over 27 years may bias me slightly......
