A net impaired friend of mine has a '96 TypeII Torsen LSD for sale. He bought
it new and had it installed in his Miata open rear. Apparently the installer
didn't get the alignment right and the pinion bearing eventually failed. This
caused the pinion gear teeth to make contact with the Torsen housing.
He subsequently found another whole Torsen rear and now wants to sell the
loose one. The unit is in perfect working order, the only sign of the mishap
is 4 groves cut into the Torsen case from the pinion teeth (they did not
penetrate). He wants $300 + shipping. Can also be professionally installed in
an extra 1st gen RX-7 84-85 carrrier (pig) I have w/4.10:1 gears (from Miata,
same as GSL-SE) for $100 more ($400 total) + shipping.
Unit fits 1984-85 RX-7 rear (large axle), 86-91 NA RX-7, most B-series trucks
and 94+ Miata. It is in Atlanta.
