I do two things. Because my Ford Expedition seems to
emit vapors on the inside and "fogs" the window, I use
Rain-x glass cleaner and then use vinegar and water on
it. This really keeps it clean for about a month. On
the outside I use the same rain-x cleaner and then use
my power buffer and a small amount of car wax to try
and smooth the windshield. Then I put the rain-x on.
Seems to keep it pretty clean. YMMV
