Aw, c'mon Matt! They're fun!!! (and I did note your <VBG>} MINIacs
the world over agree that you can't drive one of them fast without
smiling! And what better place to drive it fast than on an autocross
course?!? (note the obligatory autocross content?!?) And, even if
you can't outrun anybody, you can still outmaneuver them!
Besides, as expensive as they're getting to be in this country,
stealing it may be the only way that some folks can afford to have
one! 8<{) I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I picked mine
up in '86 right here in Shreveport for $1500. That same shell and
boxes of parts today would go for at least $4500. And we won't even
talk about the many thousands of $$$ that I've put into it since
then!!! If you buy one today that's at least streetable, though in
need of work, they usually start at about $6500. And the last year
they were sold here, if I'm not mistaken, was in '67, so they're
getting to be pretty scarce. A restored Cooper S, today, goes for
about $12,000+
BTW, didn't I offer you a ride in mine at (where was it?) the Meridian
or Fort Worth NT???
