In a purely mathematical world, yes. But accidents and death don't always
happen according accepted understanding. Case in point: Jovey Marcelo was
killed at Indy several years ago, on warm up lap, at speeds determined to be
around 60 MPH. His head took a beating, and as I recall, he may have been
extra susceptible to injury from even minor blows to the head. Some boxers
fall victim to the same problem.
