What is happening with A mod???

I am curious as to the thoughts about A mod. and its future.  In view
that an SAE placed well, does this mean that the wings are not as
important as they have been in past years???  I assume that SAE does not
have wings, per those that I have seen???  Did they run in some wet
conditions this year????

Is this a change, or is this an off year as to strength showing up for
Kansas?
