Seems to me that you can't have it both ways. Either ST/STU is meant to appeal
to
the import drag crowd ( lots of mods/ few rules/ mainly for novice drivers ) OR
its
a standard Solo II class ( limited mods/ lots of rules/ expert drivers with cars
prepped
to the max win ) So please DG, if you are going to be putting limits on the
class
to make the competition "fair" don't trot out the argument that unfair advantage
won't
appeal to the Sport Compact Car / import drag crowd. Those folks live for the
unfair
advantage. What are the import drag classes? I think its run what ya brung??? Why
not do that with STU?
I am not really taking a "side" here; I am just pointing out the logical
inconsistency
in the argument. If ST is supposed to attract new folks from a non-traditional
market then let them play with few rules. If OTOH ST is supposed
to be a class for people who have made too many mods to their street cars to fit
in SP then go ahead and make the competition fair. Don't try to do both or no
one
will be happy.
