It would be foolish to pay any dealer markup. It certainly didn't pay for
those who paid the markup on a new Miata or Beetle when they first came out.
There are probably a few dealers out there who will sell an S2000 for MSRP,
but you'll probably be on a waiting list. Otherwise, it's best to be
patient and find a used one in about a year for under $30K. Or wait a few
years and find one coming off lease. I recently bought a used '99 Miata
Sport. It is nearly a new car, but cost about $7K less than MSRP. I don't
think I'll ever buy a brand new car again (unless Publishers Clearing House
comes knocking on my door.)
