My husband Jerry first autoxed his 1950 MGTD in 1959 here in San Diego, CA.
Courses were run on parking lots at Convair, shopping centers, schools,
county/city parking lots.
Class was "under 1300cc & unmodified" cars.
They also did gymkhanas, trials & assorted other timed events.
By the way Gary I grew up in San Francisco & my family often went on
picnics to the Pleasonton County Fairgrounds. Had lots of fun.
We've had cars older than current local drivers. Guess that qualifies us
for a Senior Citizen Autox Team........!!!
No wonder my back hurts getting out of our '84 rx7 gsl se. Some days I feel
like using a padded foot stool to lean out & roll onto to get up......
With all the recent talk about attracting younger drivers I wonder if
anyone's thought of something similar for the "more experienced" generation"?
3 1/2c worth....
Bye for now, Judy {:>}
