lot of people wouldn't) There are a lot of people like myself in the
current "target" ST group of small commuter cars, but there are also a
fair number of "sportscar" types such as yourself who would also like to
play by these rules, as well as some "pony car" guys, etc.
A BIG AMEN to that sentiment. If the ST (& STR) concept could be spread
to ALL cars we would see a huge explosion of participants IMHO.
I run a BSP Corvette that has all the smog controls and AC still hooked
up. I DO NOT intend to remove them in order to make my car unstreetable
yet, theoretically, more competitive in BSP (A/C is REAL important here
in HOTlanta). ST type rules for all cars would allow those of us who LIKE
to drive our cars on the street (legally) to make some modifications. I'm
sorry, but I just don't like driving stock cars. I can't resist the urge
to tinker with my racecar/ streetcar.
BTW I trotted out this concept on Team.net some years ago as an idea to
replace SP (since "to the rules" SP cars aren't street legal, for the
most part). Man was I flamed. However, if we started a new category, like
ST, well then....... who knows what could happen?
