Howdy folks...you may remember me as one of the
DTN candidates. I don't contribute much to the main
list, but I do get my bits in offline to folks.
I'm writing because elections are coming up in our
region and no can seem to tell anyone what the duties
of the RE are. Our RE isn't being very forthcoming
with them either....since I guess he'd like to keep the
office. Can anyone let me know what the basic
responsibilities of an RE are, and about how many
hours a month it should take a reasonably competent
person to complete them? (yes, Topper and John,
I may just be insane)
Also, my region has been batting around hosting a
Solo I, and a suggestion to host a Solo Trial event
instead (so that the general membership could run)
was swatted down because a Trial supposedly requires
a much more thorough course plan that has to be
approved by the National Office. Can anyone give me
some added details on the requirements and just how
difficult it is?
