Seriously, for me, it was the initial "E" ticket ride of adrenalin.
Speed was fun. That subsided somewhat, though I have always been
thrilled about autocrossing.
Then there was the competition aspect. At ProSolos and Tours and at
Nationals, that brings the excitement right back up. For me, nothing is
better than a ProSolo challenge run.
Last two years it changed more to elation from speed to satisfaction
over driving well. I do find myself the last year or so, wishing I had
more horsepower and cornering ability than my 130hp stock car
provides...but I think maybe I just need new/better tires. 8-)
So, yes, I think some of us try this sport and say "well, this fun I
guess, what else you want to do?". The rest of us do get addicted. There
are plenty worse things one can do on a weekend.
At least you picked the right car for it.
