Well said, Tommy!
After the way you ran last weekend, I can't believe you've sold your
car!!! 8<{)
It WAS a great event. I'm just now recovering enough from the heat to
chime in. The courses were an absolute hoot and the event
administration was fabulous. So was the Saturday night supper. Had
it not been for Kevin Daigle oiling down the course Saturday afternoon
when he cracked his Neon's block, it would have gone even smoother!
(No offense, Kevin. It could have happened to anybody. I feel for
you, brother!!!)
I wish everybody could have seen us stuffing Doug Narby's long lanky
frame into my Mini Sunday afternoon after he broke his X-1/9's tranny
Saturday. I would have taken a picture, but I was too busy trying to
help cool the car down and get both of us into it for our respective
runs!
Thanks, Texas Region. You gals and guys really outdid yourselves on
this one!!! Even though it was hotter than Ol' Billy, (a 133-degree
pavement reading with a pyrometer,) you did everything you could to
make it bearable. The big tent was a really great touch! So were the
water jugs and ice chests!! The cones may have melted but those of us
who were able to find relief in the shade had a great time.
