Thanks everyone for the replies. I know more what to look for now. A couple 
further questions:

Since LSD was an option, how difficult will it be to find a car that has it 
already? How can I tell w/o jacking up the car? If it doesn't have it, am I 
allowed to add it?

No-one mentioned anything about ABS, but I see it was optional. Is it 
advantageous for auto-x in these cars?
