Hello all,
I have a '98 Firebird TA, and it came with the all-season tires 245/50ZR16.
I recently got some '9x camaro takeoff rims with BFG R1's sized 255/50ZR16.
After my first race with these tires (They worked very nicely btw), I
noticed that a little spot in both rear wheel wells had the undercoating
rubbed off down to the shiny metal. I checked the tires and noticed no
visible damage. The rubbing was on the front edge of the wells, at the
3-oclock position on the right rear and the 9-oclock position on the left
rear.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? Should I be worried? I checked
tire rack, and they have only a very limited selection of tires in the
original 245/50ZR16 size so going down a tire size will limit my options
quite a bit... I'm also going to be putting new koni's on all 4 corners in
a month or two, will this help? Spring work isn't an option since I'm going
to stick with F Stock.
Thanks for any help.
