24 psi of boost!!! Great number Karl. Slightly incorrect. As I remember, I told
you that my car was creeping up to 22-23 psi in a fourth gear around 110 mph
(could not try the fifth gear yet). That is way ahead of the speed that those
little DSMs make at the autoX course. In the second gear (where we spend most of
the time on the course), that same car can creep up to the 18-19 psi. And even
with 22-23 psi 14B equipped DSM will have about 80-100 HP less than your car.

Turbo was newer part of the engine, since it resides between exhaust manifold
and down pipe, and intercooler piping on the other side (all of the mentioned
parts are free in SP). But, that issue was beaten pretty badly too many times so
far and it doesn't have to become another SFC story.
Since you compared turbo swap to the LT1 to LT4 swap, it looks like that turbo
swap is so inexpensive, so it should not be done.
>If you want to have turbos as a seperate entity from the engine, fine, make
mine a 91 >5.7L Z28 1LE turbo. (89 Turbo TA - ESP Camaro/Firebird ('82-'92))
Why don't you send this letter to the Chevy and ask them to do it for you then.
You might be able to get three times bigger engine with turbo charger, so your
could have some chances against those evil turbo DSMs.

So, if something is too cheap to implement, make it illegal!! Way to go!
To be completely real about this latest rule, this was done because of the ESP
DSMs only. There isn't the one other car that can do this kind of the swap. DSMs
are the only cars that maintained the same short block, oil and coolant lines
between the generations and made this swap possible. I guess, all of the ESP
guys that contributed on bringing this rule to the light, should be finally very
happy!
Boy, would it be nice to have a rule to restrict the rim size to let say 8" for
all the cars with more than 6 cylinders in SP? No, it would not. That would just
make another silly rule present among us.
So, for the rest of you 14B DSMers, enjoy while you can and always be ready for
another anti-turbo strike! There is a rumor that down-pipe and cat rule could
come back again!
All the best!
