Try walking the course backwards once -- that is, facing backwards. A line
through a corner should set you up to make maximum use of the straight
parts, and sometimes it's more obvious working through the corner from the
exit.
The other trick which has worked pretty consistantly for me is to keep in
mind the car's width when walking the course. If I figure I need to graze a
pylon on the right side of the car, my sight picture from the driver's seat
is displaced a couple of feet to the left of the pylon. Simpler to do than
to discribe. Now if I can figure out how to make them come at me as fast
(although I know one guy who *runs* around the course)....
