Some parts are swappable, such as shocks, front sway bar, etc. All the
normal stock stuff you'd be able to change. The rear bar, reinforcements and
the like, would not be legal in stock, but certainly SP, and the like. To do
a complete conversion would get ugly, not to mention expensive. In addition
to adding parts, you'd have to take some out, too. Such as the sound
absorption material. You'd have to get a Type-R motor, too. All in all it
would be easier to buy a complete Type-R. Just a FYI, in Westchester County
(NY) and Fairfield County (CT), Type-Rs are getting stolen quite frequently.
Apparently, the Type-R motor bolts directly into a Civic. The Rice Boys are
(allegedly) snagging the motors. So, if you see a Type-R motor stuffed in a
Civic, chances are there is more to the story. To quote Esterhaus: "Let's be
careful out there."
