Wes, John Ames has had pretty good luck with 275/45-16's on both his Camaro and Mustang in ESP :-) They were on 9.5" or 10.0" rims though. John chose the 16" over the 17" tire because of the greater sidewall height and thus more compliance. If you don't need a 17" rim for brake clearance, I'd choose the 16" 275 over the 17" 275 tire.
