IMHO any time you operate a motor vehicle you assume responsibility for
some of the
situations you may find your self in. If you are driving at the limit of
your car or your self
you are going to spin. Who's to blame if you hit something ? I'm not
going to point a finger
but when laying out a course safety must be on your mind. We at Gulfcoast
Autocrossers
try to make our courses fun, challenging, and safe but we have had a few
incidents. Last
seasons roll over was a result of suspension failure. This season we've
had two cars
go into the fence( both BMW's) The first was on a practice day and we
realigned the finish.
The second was at the SCCA Pro Solo event. That course met SCCA approval
for safety and speed the car did not spin but drove straight off course.
Auto crossing by design is a very
safe form of motor sport but let's not be fooled into believing equipment
will never get
damaged. We just hope it is not a common occurrence
