Back when I was racing my Miata, I used the stock pads in front and Hawk
Blacks in the rear. This setup worked great but the dust was horrible and the
rotors wore faster than the pads. The idea of a soft pad in the rear is a
good one but you might look for a less destructive pad. Porterfields might be
a good choice.
