I just wanted to add to the "revolution story". I have a set of revs, that
I like very much thanks. I needed some bolts and such last year. I called
Racing Wheel Service, and was told he had what I needed. He also needed
some KYB shocks. We worked out a agreement in which I would send the
shocks, he would send the bolts, and I would deduct the price of the bolts
from the shocks. It took roughly 3 weeks to recieve the bolts (and I ended
up with about 5 althogether and they weren't the same as I needed). It
also took a few phone calls to remind Mr. Cobb to send them. I did get
them. But to this day 1 year and almost 2 months later I have yet to see
the $190+ for the struts. Mr. Cobb's business number only gets you an
answering machine, and he does not call back. Letters have gone
unanswered, in fact every attempt I made to contact him has failed.
Until........... The thread about the wheels began and he defended himself.
I wrote a private e-mail (could've been public, but I felt that was harsh
at the time) to him stating basically, I was out of patience and it was
time to pay for his product. Also, that I have been in contact with
Revolution directly (I have to get parts somewhere, thanks Sid) in England
and got a little different story about the supply trouble. And that if I
didn't get paid or he didn't make arrangements to pay I would sue, and tell
Team.net what's up. Well, you can guess that he hasn't done either. So,
here's the poop as understand it. We didn't really get into details. But
I heard enough to make me wonder.
Revolution used RWS as he carried a large inventory and could supply people
pretty quickly. Well, somewhere along the way I gather his stock dwindled
to "not much" status. Then when you or I wanted a part he didn't have he
had to order it from England. But, Revolution won't (rightly) ship
containers with small quantities of parts in them. They have to wait until
they are full (which can take months-- do you see where this is
headed????). So therefore it neatly looks like Rev. is at fault. I dunno,
that's what they tell me. Maybe Bill is right, but personally I'm not
about to trust him, and Rev's story seems feasible to me. I understand
that he still buys from Revolution, but find it strange that I can't find
anywhere he advertises. ????
In an apparent effort to appease me, Bill Cobb called here and wanted to
*return* the shocks that he, um, borrowed??? more than a year ago. Says
the guys who wanted them backed out. I was curious why he didn't send them
back then. Oh well.
the folks at Revolution have been very nice, and the wheels are very good.
So I would recommend them (to stay on thread), especially since they exist
and there are places to call for parts.
So, this is my little retaliation to get even with someone who screwed me.
Thanks for the space.
