Our club just received our new JACircuits Timer which utilizes
retoreflective laser photoheads. This is a replacement for our old, 1st
generation, JACircuits timer which we purchased back in 1985. Since the
new timer cost $2300, and the old one is still working great, there was
some resistance by our club to update. Early testing convinces me that
any preconceptions/misconception/hesitation will be put to rest as soon
a we run a couple events with the new timer; although, we are keeping
the old timer on "stand-by".
We are also going to try out a demo version of the timing and scoring
software called "Autox". It interfaces directly to the new timer. Early
tests have been very favorable, but we are holding off purchasing the
full version ($175) until we run a few events with the demo version.
