I have a catalog at work that sells industrial perforated metal products.
These
are used to construct modular industrial catwalks and stairs. The stuff is
very
rugged, lightweight and inexpensive. It comes zinc plated so it doesn't rust
easily. I welded hinges to a couple sections and did exactly what you
described.
Its a nice setup. I can look at work for the website address today if you

I going over there anyway. As for the hinges. The best selection that I have
found
is in the McMaster Carr catalog. These guys have it all. If its not in their
catalog
you can't buy it!!!!!! Do a search on the web for them.
