Couldn't this be a failure of the fuel pump itself. My understanding it
will pump into the crankcase if there's a diaphragm problem.

I did not get to use my SV much this year. I did use it a few weeks ago,
and when I checked the oil, it had a strong gasoline smell. This concerns
me only as I think it may decrease the lubricity of the oil. Is this a real
concern? I am using a Weber carb, if it matters.
