IIRC the Pertronics module requires that the sum of the coil and the ballast
exceed 3 ohms.
The ballast less lucas sport coil is OK to run on the pertronics without
ballast, but most coils, particularly the
"hot" ones will run a low enough resistance so as to require a 1.5 to 2 ohm
ballast resistor.
