Alpine bonnet flash

I see an interesting Alpine on ebay at the moment. (Usual caveats apply 
- No Interest or knowledge of the car other than picking up on the 
bonnet flash.)

If you look at the hood/bonnet flash, its not the previously documented 
cast item.

Its  a stainless strip - I know this as I got one with series 3 hood 
several years ago.

Does anyone know any more about them ?
