I for one enjoy your reports, especially the pictures. You are in
the process of pushing a Sunbeam, technology and yourself to the limit in a
quest for a land speed record. I say bravo! Yes, your writing style is
different but I have seen worse, usually my own. I have no trouble
following the story or it's meaning.
We have freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom to speak our
minds and most important we have freedom of choice.
I choice to read your reports, for those who choice not to read the reports,
every computer comes complete with a DELETE KEY so you can exercise your
freedom of choice.
To the reader who sent you the note; I say lighten up, enjoy the
trip, embrace the diversity of the Sunbeam family and the contributors and
members of this wonder list.

Subject: My World's Fastest Sunbeam Daily Activity Reports
I just received a note from a peeved list member about my sending the
daily or near daily reports of the car and my activities in getting it
ready to race on the salt flats. His note was nice and not mean spirited
but it made me think about the question: Does anybody really care aboout
it? Sp what is the consensus regarding the reports? I will stop if only
a few ant to know progress. Here is the text of the message I received,
pleasant and reasoned:
"as a member of the Alpine list for many years I want to know why I must be
subjected to the daily progress, in it's most excruciating minutia, of
whatever it is that you are doing?? and judging by the way it is written,
with all the cutesy remarks and references to persons here to fore unknown,
I can find absolutely no purpose in this dairy. In fact, why dont you take a
poll and see who really is at all interested and just send your daily
entries to those of us who care. I feel that if you find it necessary to
report on a daily basis of your progress, it should be to those who are
interested. As for me, i cant figure out what the hell you are doing!"
So, please let me know if I should continue this either on list or off. If
you have comments, please reply to all so that everyone can read the
comments together.
