Paul is correct. I've had to do it that way when I could not pull the hub. You can pull the half-shaft out with the hub intact, but you do need to disassemble the brake mechanism. You then remove the bolts holding the backplate to the axle body. You will need to replace the paper gasket between the backplate as well as the chevron seal. Good luck. Julian.
