Andy, You need a certain amount of clearance for the oil thrower to work its magic. Too tight would cause even more oil to drip than it is designed to. The important thing is to centre the cover as best you can. It's actually a pretty good system for its time. The list has had reports of a modification to add a chevron seal to the pulley cover, but personally I would not bother. Julian - SIII (leaks just enough to keep rust off the subframe) |
