this may sound crazy, but it works. make a circle of wax around the area you want to drill a hole. using a flat ended piece of drill stock in a slow speed drill, use ordinary valve lapping compound (silicon carbite)(put a fair amount in the wax ring) slowly lift then press down against the glass working the valve compound between the glass and rod. it takes ahwile, but works every time. just be light handed ,and patient Paul in RI |
