Hullo!
I'm in the UK and have just bought a Rapier IV. I've a question which I hope
you don't mind helping me with. Not an Alpine of course, but related cars.
I would like to refurbish the veneered walnut dash. The veneer is cracked
and bubbling up. I would like to re-glue it and revarnish it.
Because the veneer is lifting off, I don't want to sand the old varnish off,
as I'll just wreck the veneer on the high spots. So I have tried Nitromors,
which normally strips any paint or varnish. Nothing! Won't touch it. I don't
know what the varnish could be. Epoxy comes to mind, if it was used then.
Does anyone have any idea how I might remove the varnish?
many thanks,
Paul
