I had 185R13's on my Cricket and while they handled well, they had a very,
very funny feel. The problem was that the rims were too narreow and the tire
kind of rolled on the side wall. A set of 165x13's fixed everything.

Hi Bill,
I put 185R13 on my Series IV and they look real good and they also
handle great. I thought something was wrong with my steering with the old
Bias tires, really hard to steer, then I put the Radials on and it was like
I has power steering.

Subject: Tires, slightly off topic
While nosing through some tire mfgr sites, I noticed that the 165R - 15 is
available. Does anyone know what this was used on? The big Healy? How
wierd
would they look on an Alpine? I'm thinking they may look very 40's - 50's
Brittish sports car. I like this look, even though the Alpine never had it.
These tires are big, 25.33" in dia. and I am not into the current tire
trend,
of wide, low ratio tires. Besides, being different is fun.
A curious thing I noticed, while the the 165R - 15 and 165R - 13 are
available, the 165R - 14 does not seem to be. Does anyone have any idea
why?
Bill
