Chuck,
I have heard of taking a SIV, SV crossmember and adding an SI to SIII
uppur control arm, but not like you describe.
The reason it would be tough if not impossible is that the SI to SIII
lower control arm connects to the stub axle with a trunnion, instead of the
ball joint that was used on the SIV, SV lower arm.
Perhaps I misinterpreted your statement...

Subject: tranny and front end
I have a ser l-ll tranny in good condition (non-syncro) free to a good
home. Taker pays shipping, I pack.
Then I have a question, my Ser ll has a 4-5 front end suspension on top,
but an early series lower "A" frame? Don't ask don't tell. Has any one
else run across this type of arrangement. ? I finally figured this out
the other nite while surveying for the front end job.
